FosterREG workshop in Spain: Socio-economic criteria in the segmentation of rehabilitation funding

Mesas Discusion

Another FosterREG capacity building event was completed in Spain. The workshop SOCIO-ECONOMIC CRITERIA IN THE SEGMENTATION OF REHABILITATION FUNDING was organized on 14th February 2017 in VISESA premises.

The event gathered key agents in the design and definition of public funds for urban regeneration.

The workshop was aimed to present and discuss the existing criteria in the different administrations for the design of energy efficiency and rehabilitation public funds, as well as the possibility of their coordination and segmentation.

Examples of the collected conclusions are as follows:

  • the current financing of urban regeneration and energy efficiency is not very accessible to a large part of residents,
  • urban rehabilitation is the future of housing policy and energy efficiency is a key element on which to base the funding strategies,
  • rehabilitation management has to work on social and institutional coordination; social pact for urban rehabilitation is needed.

The next Spanish capacity building workshop will be held on 15th March 2017 and managed by TECNALIA. More information is available at the FosterREG training activities calendar for Spain
